Sustainable NFTs?

As the NFT market is blooming, there is still a lack of clear information on the environmental impact. Even though NFTs themselves do not cause any environmental impact, the impact on our climate is linked to how an NFT is produced.
Using an old, energy-intensive methods, such as proof of work resulting in increased carbon footprint.
Sustainable NFTs are possible, but it's not a simple fix.
New alternative blockchains are already started off with proof-of-stake systems, allowing them to skip the environmentally damaging concept.

Innovation has always been the driving force behind change in art and culture. We believe that it's important to endorse these changes.

Exhibition "NFThon: The Future" emphasizes the never-before-impossible fusion of culture, blockchain-based innovation and sustainability.

A month-long curated showcase (July-August 2022) in the main hall of Akropolis Kaunas, combined with artsy minimalistic bionic-like structures, Lithuania-created NFT innovations and contribution of international participants, attracting and inspiring a new generation of artists, thinkers and responsible citizens.
